Despite blowing an early 4-0 lead, the Casper defeated the Billings Mustangs in game two of a four game series 7-5, to climb into a tie for second place in the South division.
In the bottom of the first, the Ghosts would load the bases with nobody out. Brett Tanos drove in two runs with a double, Blake McDade would drive a run in on a ground out, and Ryan Casteel singled in Tanos to make the score 4-0 Ghosts.
Billings would score two runs in the third with the help of a couple of errors, and they would tie it in the 3rd after and RBI double by Yorman Rodriguez and and RBI single by Donald Lutz.
Casper would come right back and answer with two runs in the bottom of the third. It started with a leadoff single by Corey Dickerson. He got to third on a single by Tanos. Dickerson scored on an RBI single by McDade, which got Tanos to third, and Tanos scored on a fielder’s choice. The Ghosts would add another run in the fourth after an RBI single by Rafael Oretega to make it 7-4.
Billings would score a run in the 8th to make it 7-5, but Juan Perez threw a 1-2-3 9th to pick up the save.
The Ghosts 1-5 hitters combined to go 10-for-20, with all five going 2-for-4. The Ghosts are 4-1 so far on the seven game homestand, and have won the first two against Billings.
