2 member of the 2009 Ghosts played in the All-Star game, and one was named the game's MVP. Angelys Nina went 0-for-2 for the South, but the story was Eliezer Mesa who went 3-for-5 with a double, 2 RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base.
Mesa is following up his great season with the Ghosts in 2009, with a better season in Asheville this season. He is second in the South Atlantic league in hitting with a .337 average. He is fourth in the league in total hits with 84, and his 47 runs scored are fifth best.
Last night's All-Star game ended in a 5-5 tie.
